Eight nations. 29 players. MLS players will have themselves a busy summer at Copa America as the tournament prepares to kick off on Friday.
While the U.S. Men’s National Team leads the way with representatives for the competition, talented nations like Brazil , Ecuador and Costa Rica also boast MLS talent within their 23-man rosters.
Traditional contributors for the U.S. such as Clint Dempsey, Michael Bradley and Jermaine Jones have all earned selections from head coach Jurgen Klinsmann.
Orlando City captain Kaka headlines the group as he has received a call up from Dunga and the Brazilian national team. Costa Rica and Jamaica have each selected five MLSers, including Christian Bolanos, Andre Blake and Kemar Lawrence.
Overall, the San Jose Earthquakes lead all MLS teams with four players serving their respective countries. Striker Chris Wondolowski has been included in the USMNT squad, while Anibal Godoy and Alberto Quintero will play roles for Panama and Simon Dawkins takes the field with Jamaica.
