After all of the build-up, the U.S. Men’s National Team’s road through the Copa America finally begins with Colombia on Friday night.
In the first match of this summer’s tournament, the USMNT hosts Colombia at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara. To start the 100th anniversary of the tournament, Jurgen Klinsmann has selected a lineup causing little to no surprise, as Michael Bradley, Clint Dempsey and Bobby Wood headline the USMNT XI.
Standing in their path will be a Colombia team currently ranked third in the world. Boasting an attacking unit led by James Rodriguez and Carlos Bacca, Colombia gives the USMNT its biggest test of the group stage in the first match of the tournament.
